Augusta’s FIRST ALL GIRLS 2019 S.T.E.A.M. Expo

March 23, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

2019 S.T.E.A.M. Expo, Living STEMseum

Our 2019 S.T.E.A.M. Expo featuring a STEAMGirl Panel and Living STEMseum will take place on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 10am to 1pm. This event is for girls ages 8-18 (registration capacity has been reached). The event will include a panel discussion, steam demonstrations, activities and a live museum of Professionals in STEM. The purpose of the event is to expose girls to the wonderful careers and opportunities that are available to them in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math.

Our goal is to provide GIRLS (ages 8-18) with an opportunity to learn about the various opportunities in S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) first hand from those who work in these professions.

Quick Facts: It is estimated that ‘GIRLS’ who struggle in Math and Science will become ‘Women’ who will cut themselves off from 75 percent of the STEM jobs that will make up the job market in the years to come. As U.S. News reported in 2013, 71 percent of the new jobs being added will be “computer related in every field.” And today, the fact remains that in STEM, we do not have enough qualified talent to fill these opportunities. In the U.S., there are 2.5 million unfilled STEM jobs.

This event will include:

  • STEM activities
  • Demonstrations for the Girls
  • A STEAMGirl Panel discussion
  • A Living STEMseum
